Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

When you use SpeakFlow, we may collect:

• Account information. SpeakFlow creates an anonymous Firebase account and assigns it a technical user identifier. You do not need to provide a name or email address to use the core app.
• Learning content. We store text you type, speech-to-text transcripts you choose to submit, AI-generated improvements and lessons, practice results, language settings, and progress.
• Profile memory. We store facts used to personalize lessons only when they are added to your visible profile memory. You can edit, delete, or disable this memory in the app.
• Usage and diagnostic data. We may collect app interactions, device and operating-system information, crash reports, performance data, and approximate region through analytics and diagnostics services.
• Purchase information. If you subscribe, app stores and RevenueCat process the transaction. We receive subscription status, product, pricing, and transaction identifiers, but not your full payment-card details.
• Advertising data. When you choose to watch a rewarded ad, Google AdMob may process device identifiers, IP address and approximate location inferred from it, ad interactions such as video views, diagnostic and performance data, and information about ads shown. SpeakFlow sends an opaque technical account identifier to Google only to verify and award the lesson credit.

2. How we use information

We use information to provide and improve SpeakFlow, including to:

• generate and personalize language exercises;
• improve your text and create speaking-practice material;
• save your settings, progress, and optional profile memory;
• manage subscriptions and lesson access;
• show and measure rewarded ads, prevent advertising fraud, and verify lesson-credit rewards;
• keep the service secure, prevent misuse, and troubleshoot problems; and
• understand how the app is used and improve its reliability.

3. AI processing

Text you submit and relevant profile context may be sent securely through our backend to an AI service provider to generate feedback, improved responses, and lessons. API keys are never stored in the app. We do not send your audio to the AI provider. You should avoid including sensitive personal information in learning responses.

4. Service providers

We use third-party processors to operate the app:

• Google Firebase for authentication, cloud functions, database hosting, analytics, and crash reporting;
• OpenAI for AI-assisted language generation;
• RevenueCat for subscription status and purchase management;
• Amplitude and Google Analytics for Firebase for product analytics; and
• Google AdMob for rewarded advertising, advertising measurement, fraud prevention, and reward verification; and
• Apple App Store and Google Play for app distribution, payments, and platform speech recognition where applicable.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Information may be processed in countries other than the one where you live. You can read more about how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services.

5. Advertising choices

Where required by law, we ask for your consent before requesting personalized advertising through Google AdMob. Google's consent form provides the choices applicable in your region. Choosing not to consent may limit ad personalization or the availability of ads, but does not affect your ability to use the core app. Contact us using the details below with questions about your advertising choices.

6. Retention and deletion

We keep learning data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. You can permanently delete your account and associated SpeakFlow learning data from the app settings. Deleting the app alone does not delete the account.

Account deletion removes the Firebase account and records keyed to it from our active systems. Limited records may remain where required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or financial reporting. Analytics providers, app stores, and RevenueCat may retain historical or transaction information according to their own retention rules. Deleting a SpeakFlow account does not cancel an active app-store subscription; subscriptions must be cancelled through the relevant store.

7. Your choices and rights

You can review or change language settings, edit or remove profile-memory facts, disable memory, manage device permissions, and delete your account in the app. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to request a portable copy of eligible data.

8. Children's privacy

SpeakFlow is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required to consent to data processing in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information to SpeakFlow.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including authenticated access and server-side handling of AI credentials. No service can guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as SpeakFlow develops. We will change the date above and provide additional notice in the app when a material change requires it.
